How can we not appreciate Ted Danson’s remake of El agente topo (2020)?
Charles, a retired man, finds new life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes the mole of an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Michael Schur was inspired to create «A Man On the Inside» after watching the Chilean documentary «Agent Mole.» He says: «The documentary is powerful because it makes people of all ages, races, and genders feel something remarkably similar, and I describe that feeling in a very low-key way, like, «I need to call my mom.» In our show, we tried to do something similar in tone: basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of wanting to call our moms?
The guys are legendary, like Tom Selleck’s mustache
Anyway, I found this show to be a total boy band. Some pretty funny lines, two very attractive female leads who never get hurt, and a great message about relationships in life.
Especially in the later stages when things really matter for the right reasons
I also found that this show resonated with me because it touches on dementia. Having recently lost my father to this terrible disease made me feel more connected.
I definitely recommend this series and look forward to another season
Still, with each episode, I became more invested and found each character charming and likable in their own unique way. It feels good, while it’s not as earth-shattering as some of the scenes in the classic Golden Lake movie, it’s just a laid-back and well-written show.
