It is about Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The second part of a two-part film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Wicked first announced the split into two films in April 2022, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining, «The truth is, for a while we tried to make this a movie, which required us to cut or leave out things we wanted to include. and we think fans of the show and the story will appreciate it.» He added, «We found it very difficult to get through ‘Defying Gravity’ without a break. That song was written specifically to bring the curtain down, and every scene that followed without a break felt extremely anticlimactic.» Featured in AniMats Crazy Cartoon Cast: Chip n’ Dale: A New Legacy (2022).
